Infant Care

Beyond the newborn period, Infant Care encompasses all the health, growth, and developmental needs of babies from about 1 month to 12 months (and often extending into toddler age). At Maumee Bay Pediatrics, we provide comprehensive infant care for families in Oregon, Ohio and Toledo.

In these early months, we monitor growth trajectories, feeding transitions (e.g., introduction of solids), iron status, sleep habits, teething, and developmental milestones (rolling, sitting, crawling, first words). Each visit gives us a chance to tailor recommendations to your baby’s pace and individual needs.

We provide anticipatory guidance on topics such as safe sleep, preventative oral care, feeding (including dealing with reflux, colic, or food sensitivities), babyproofing, introduction of allergenic foods, and immunization timing. We encourage parent questions and empower caregivers to make informed decisions.

If your infant shows signs of developmental delays, feeding problems, failure to thrive, or recurrent illness, we conduct further assessments or refer to specialists. We also monitor and manage common infant conditions such as eczema, diaper rash, ear infections, and growth faltering.

We understand the challenges of parenting in the modern era — juggling pediatric appointments, sleep deprivation, conflicting advice, and emotional stress. Our team in Oregon/Toledo is here to provide continuity of care, listening support, and evidence-based guidance.
