Immunizations

One of the most important responsibilities of pediatric care is immunizations — protecting children from serious, preventable diseases. At Maumee Bay Pediatrics, we follow the recommended immunization schedules endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In Northwest Ohio, including Oregon and Toledo, diseases such as measles, mumps, pertussis (whooping cough), varicella (chickenpox), and influenza remain relevant threats. By keeping immunizations up to date, we help safeguard not only your child, but the whole community through herd immunity.

During immunization visits, we review your child’s immunization record, discuss which vaccines are due, and answer any questions or concerns you may have. We explain possible side effects, how to manage discomfort, and when to contact us. We administer vaccines with careful attention to safety, dosing, and comfort.

We also work with local schools in Toledo and Oregon, Ohio, to help parents meet health requirements and ensure children are ready for daycare, preschool, and K–12 enrollment. Our staff is familiar with state immunization laws and can provide documentation or certificates needed.

If your child has missed vaccines or is behind schedule, we offer catch-up immunization plans tailored for that child. Our team can help you understand timing, spacing, and specific vaccine brand options when appropriate.

Immunizations are foundational to preventive child health care in Ohio. At Maumee Bay Pediatrics, we’re proud to partner with families in Oregon and Toledo in keeping children safe from vaccine-preventable diseases.
